I;m 30yr, Male.I had got my MRI reports of lower back. And I would like to know more about those Impressions

Impression:
Broad-based disc bulge at L4/5 with a superimposed central disc protrusion resulting in moderate central canal stenosis and narrowing the lateral recesses
Central disc protrusion at L3/4 with a small annular tear resulting in mild narrowing of the right lateral recess and abutting the existing L3 nerve root on the right.

Comment
At L5/S1 there is a broad-based disc old without significant central canal or neuroforaminal stenosis.

Symptoms:- pain in both sides in my lower back
- numbness in right leg (below knee) and right hand
-Recently started tingling in toes and fingers in left
-Do not have any pain in my legs(I can walk and run)

Please Can anyone educate me based on my symptoms

My DR was recommended for Physiotherapy.i'm going to start from next week

I have few Q's about my pain.

I 'm about to marry in couple of months. My situation is very embarrassing to me.

-Mainly I'm concerned about numbness and tingling. Can do Physiotherapy and exercises help me out from numbness and tingling? or else do i need to take injections.

-How does this stenosis impact on married life?

Please anyone advise and educate me. I was almost blankkkkkkk.

  • You can do a search in the blue box above for many of your test results like this for herniated disc http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/herniated-disc/lumbar-herniated-disc

    Stenosis http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/spinal-stenosis

Usually they may order an EMG, nerve test for your leg with sciatica and numbness and be seen by a Neurologist especially if Physiotherapy isn't effective. Writing a pain journal with your symptoms while you do certain things and what makes it worse and what relieves your pain like icing or heat or pain medications can help your Dr. know how to help you.

Have you seen an Orthopedic Surgeon yet and had flexion and extension x-rays yet. I hope you can see the Spine Specialist soon and get some relief from your symptoms before your big day and congrats. Best wishes. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN
  • Yes. Yesterday I went to Orthopedic surgeon. After reviewed my MRI and examined my low back and symptoms.

But he didn't answered well and simply said you have 2 bulging discs, these are very common.prescribed Physiotherapy and pain management. Not recommended for Surgery.

I'm very scary about my life with these symptoms.

Can anyone please suggest me who experienced similar problems and get rid of from my numbness, tingling in my leg and hand.

Can i relief from numbness, tingling with Physiotherapy.
