Hi all. I am 3 years post L4-5 fusion and the pain is getting worse by the day. Am on 30 mg hydrocodone a day plus the normal neurontin, methocarmabal stuff. I originally had an ortho do my surgery. Recently went to a Neuro for another look and had a new MRI. I wondered if any of you know what these terms might mean....have tried to "google" them but don't get good defs.
1) enhancing granulation tissue (is this scar tissue?)
2) disc protrustion (is this herniation?)
3) lumbar spondylosis (?)
4) broad based focal protrustion into left neural foramen (this is the part that doesn't sound good)
Am trying to prepare myself for my face-to-face meeting with my neuro. The MRI showed the enhancing granulation tissue at site of fusion, lumbar sponylosis and facet disease with diffuse degeneration of all lumbar discs. Symmetrical bulging of L2, L3, L5-S1. Degeneration of L3-4 with broad based, focal bulging/protrustion of L3-4 asymmetric to the left into the left neural foramen. Endplate degenerative changes at all levels.
Well......thinking it might be time to consider SCS. Thanks in advance for your help. If I didn't work full-time (50 hrs a week) I would spend more time in the forum helping others with questions. But never think that I don't value your help. I turn to you first for support!
