4 out of 7 discs bulging....need advice

Got the results of my MRI back today. The doctor told me I have C5, C6 and C7 are 1, 1.3, 2.5, 3.2 I think I missed one of the vertebra as she said there were 4 of 7 discs bulging. Muscle that is attached to my neck is locked and spurring. She had me make an appointment with the neurological surgeon ASAP (next Tuesday) for a consultation on surgery. Can anyone help explain what this means?

  • >:D< Welcome to Spine Health >:D<

I think this post probably would get more response in the cervical thread http://www.spine-health.com/forum/pain/neck-pain-cervical

The cervical spine has 7 vertabrae C1-C7 then the thoracic spine come in and it has 12 (I think) then the lumbar spine and it has 5 vertabrae.

It sounds like you will get more information from a neurosurgeon next week. If you want you can usually get a copy of your MRI (cd and report) from the imaging center. You may have to go in and fill out a form and there could be a slight charge. The place where I go always give me a copy of the CD before I leave. If I want the report I usually have to go back and get it the following week or get my NS to give me a copy.

    I hope that helps.

    Hang in there,
