Just had the EMG test and it came back as L5 being the problem just like the NEO stated
They said I have nerve damage. This all happened 7 weeks ago.

    Oops MRI.
MRI can't show if a nerve is damaged short of a severed nerve. EMG on the other hand can....

  • Sorry the MRI showed nerve being pinched in L5. The EMG shows this as well but it came back positive for nerve damage. I'm dceduled for surgery but still not sure of what to do.
  • Thanks for clarifying...Yes, the MRI can show if a nerve is trapped, but the EMG if done properly, can tell if you have nerve damage or nerve entrapment... Big difference.

Please let us know how it goes. As to surgery, it comes down to you. How you feel about what your body is telling you, what you internally feel, what your surgeon is telling you etc. It's a mix. I have surgery this coming week, and am already at peace with it as I know I am more at risk NOT having it vs having it? Yeah, not in pre-surgery freak zone....

It is very personal. I will send you positive thoughts and prayers... :)
