4 months post op - shoulder blade pain

I know, I certainly am not the first to experience this. the frustrating part is that I thought this whole ACDF surgery was going so well. I was off painkillers during the day after five days. Still took them at night. Got off them completely by week three.

I have been riding my horse, hiking, going to the gym at lunch every day. And then....we went to the woods and got firewood last weekend. Not smart. My neck hurts, my back hurts, my butt hurts. I've been to PT twice: e-stem, heat, massage. That was nice.

I hope, pray, that I didn't hurt anything.

  • We had ACDF at almost the same time. Remember, our muscles are still week. I am currently doing PT to strengthen the muscles in my entire body. I do still get the severe muscle spasm in my left shoulder blade and neck if I over do it- it seems like you did. My doctor said it takes time to heal, so just be careful!
