I had Microdisectomy in Mid july2011 all is well except that I have numbness in my left foot all the times.Anyone can suggest something,to help me with this problem.?

  • Glad to hear that overall your discectomy went well. I also had a discectomy/lami in July, unfortunately it was not successful and I now need a fusion.

Did you have the numbness before your surgery? My numbness and footdrop got worse after surgery.

The nerves take a long time to heal. I have heard of situations where numbness continues to improve up to 1-2 years after surgery. It really depends on how badly nerves were compressed and for how long before surgery they were compressed, and many other reasons.

    Have you done any physio?
