My name is Carl and i am 42 years old and love doing my job as a firefighter. My problems started 5 years ago with pain in my right shoulder and after some time travelled down to my fingers. I did chiropractic and physiotherapy treatments and spinal root nerve injections and pulse radio frequency treatments and none of these worked.I also suffer with neuralgia on the right side of my face and have really bad dizzy spells that last for days and medicines just make me so incredibly tired. I have now to date had 3 MRI scans and shows compression to C4/5 and C5/6. The last surgeon i saw said i had 3 options, 1st we could do nothing and you live with it. 2nd have more spinal injections but they have not worked before. 3rd we can operate and perform an operation called CERVICAL SPINE POSTERIOR DECOMPRESSION FORAMINOTOMIES. He said this is no fusion and no nuts and bolts and would cut away bone and herniated disc to the said areas to create more space. Can anyone who has had this operation please let me know how they feel now and if any complications they had and the recovery time. I really love my job and want to be able to run around with my 2 year old daughter in the future. Can anyone help me with some good advice and news please. All of you that have taken the time to read this, i thankyou. If you do suffer yourself with the above then my heart goes out to you and may you find some relief.
