my son inlaw had a T12 fracture from a bicycle accident in 2009, however the pain and discomfort is still as bad as original, recently taken in to hospital where a "displacement" (??) of T12 was diagnosed, and has had to revert to wearing a very restrictive brace, through seeing a spinal consultant over the last two years he was about to decide on surgery, this latest episode has made him want this surgery more, apart from being convinced that the fracture was not dealt with correctly in the first place, what would be the prognosis after this fusion takes place? especially pain management.
any thoughts appreciated, the guy gets very depressed.
