Hi everyone, I am 14 months post op L4/5, L5/S1 instrumented fusion, and also have a 6 month old baby, (I know you are doing the math right now).

Rehab after surgery didn't happen due to morning sickness and lack of pain relief, but I consider it was successful. Still have a heap of back pain, leg pain gone altogether, needing to have a look around at all your info and see what kind of rehab I should start now, and where others are at post surgery. Cheers.

  • First let me say welcome to spine-health. Have a look around and you will find others with the same surgery, as yourself. Sounds as though that little oops is a bundle of joy. Surprised they did surgery, or didn't figure it out I should say sense they do a pre-screen just to be sure your not preger's, but sounds as though it all worked, so congrats on the new arrival. It is never to late to start strengthening your back, though, so good look with a rehab program, your going to need it, in just a few months when the walking arrives, lol. So many fun years ahead for you and your family.
  • Yeah unsure about the screening thing, but surgery definately would not have gone ahead if we had known.

I was actually looking forward to the walking bit, (less deadweight lifting) or so I thought, lots to learn I guess. Bub survived heaps of xrays, over 4 hrs of anaesthetic, loads of drugs the first week post op, and is perfectly healthy just for anyone else concerned about the same thing.

    Thanx again..
