Ouchie, ouchie. Did anyone get the number of that truck that hit me? I think it was a turkey truck...had to be. I'm in misery today friends. I knew it as soon as I sat down last night after all the dishes were cleared away. Funny how it doesn't really hit until I sit down but oh man, it's not good today. This to shall pass (so they say) and it was worth it I guess. I'm looking on the bright side--I don't have to cook for a few days now. Ah, leftovers....

Hope all of you are doing good today and getting some much needed rest. Gotta gather our strength so we can do it all over again in less than a month........O000000000000000000

I feel so darn old today! I'm sure a couple of days and I'll get myself put back together--as much as ever anyway.

How are you today Jim? Hope you're as good as you can be. Thinking of you and counting down the days until your surgery brings you much needed/deserved relief.

  • That's one good thing about making a big turkey that it lasts for days! I like turkey soup also! I don't cook anymore and my husband only makes turkey bits like tonight we're having turkey legs and mashed potato and veggies but at Christmas my husband will add stuffing since my brother will be joining us.

I hope you rest up and ice if you can the sore areas. Glad you enjoyed a great meal and Thanksgiving yesterday. Charry

Thankfully I have lots of stuff besides turkey. My hubby, son nor I like turkey but we also have a ham and all kinds of sides. My brother and nephew came by for lunch today thankfully but we still have enough food for another Thanksgiving dinner. No cooking for me until they threaten me if I offer them leftovers again! lol.

It's just sad that by the time I got everything ready I haven't even felt like eating. Not that missing some meals will hurt me!

Hope you're having a good day Charry. Enjoy your meal. I may get in the mood for some desserts later--something I really don't need.

  • hi!!we are vegeterians so there was no holiday turkey for leftovers.. there was plenty of cornbread dressing and all the other stuff though!! hang in there and enjoy the long weekend!!!! Jenny :)
  • Do you shape a turkey out of the cornbread dressing? I think that would be cool. Charry

  • Cooking a meal on a normal day is hard enough, even if it's something as simple as good ole KD, lol. I'm lucky in that I'm single, and have always been the one who lived away, so I was the one who had to travel back home for the holidays. And even now that I am close to home, because of the fact that I'm still the single one and my house is too small to accommodate the rest of my family, I still have go to either my mom's or my sister's for holiday dinners, so I get out of cooking the big meals :) But I do sympathize!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday meal with their families, and enjoy those leftover turkey sandwiches and less time toiling over the stove the next couple of days!!

  • I was very blessed my older son, came early and rallied the others, basically did everything. From peeling, chopping and even did the gross part(as my d would say)rubbed the turkey with soften butter and herbs. I sat and gave instructions. With my breathing and heart issues they wouldn't let me do a thing....
And hubby did all the cleaning up. I was just amazed.
Duh me after all these yrs doing all the cooking.
Was the most relaxing Thanksgiving ever, and we played games after and just laughed. Was nice just having us and no extra guess.
But my son's gf stopped in to say hi, she and her partner, she had to work, they are emt's so of course by neighbor friends rang asap to see if something was up, with big ambulance sitting in my driveway...
