Getting Better

Well last night was really rough, first night home and could not get comfortable so slept like crap, today is Day 4 after 2 level ALIF, got up without real issues this morning thanks to help of a great wife, ate breakfast and watched a little TV, Wife and little girl left due to needing to be in the Christmas parade for girl scouts, good thing parade route goes right in front of the house. So, I put on my big boy pants and ventured out to the curb. Felt really good to get out. Surprised a few people by being out and it made me feel good! Actually plan on doing that every day now, the more I move the better I feel. Still taking muscle relaxers and pain meds every 6 hours and they knock me down for a little bit. Just got up on my own from a nap, finally slept on my side!! Best sleep I have had since the operation. I am a little worried I am pushing myself too much but the Dr. did say do what you can and the more you can do the better. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement from everyone here.

  • Good to hear how well you are doing!
Definitely good to walk a little bit.

I would say if you can do more better BUT be careful not to overdo it. One thing I learned with spine surgery, you don't want to push through any pain. Do more but stop before you hurt.

Glad you got to see the parade!!!
