I have spinabiffida oculta and I stated to get a lot of chronic nerve pain in the lower end of my back and my right leg.
So the doc refers me to the nerosergion at Oxford hospital he recommended they do a risealosis operation where they burn the nerves away and remove the pain. I went in on crutches and come out the same day pain free I felt great for two weeks, then it started to go back to how it was.
I was told it might do, but what I wasn't told it would get worse.
I've gone from having codine based pain killers to
300 mg of morphine a day
5 mg of diazepam
30 mg noratripaline.
I can't walk on my right leg at all the morphine only brings my pain down by 60% and I still can't walk on it.
I can't remember last time I went to the toilet without a laxative or had a wee standing up I can only do it sitting down....
I now sleep most of the day and I have lost my job I was a driver.
Yesterday I went for a MRI scan and they are now transferring me back over to the nerosergion specialist .
I'm getting really depresed no one seems to relies when I say I have back pain they just think u can get rid of it with an aspirin .
I'm just a shadow of the person I used to be and the medical staff all they want to do is throw more morphine at me.
I found a way to help with the drowsiness. It's 100 mg of efferdryn
I just have to drink a lot..
i may be disabled but i can still take pictures :-)
