Well, I was originally scheduled for a facet block and an SI joint block (l5/s1). While I was on the table, I knew I felt extra sticks!! pressure and a little pain. I heard the doc (NS) say something about changes in the level above and instead of 2 shots I was given 4! I didn't bother asking what the changes were that warranted 2 extra shots so i'm wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar to this in the past?

I also developed unreal hiccups shortly after the shots. They are gone now but it was the strangest thing. Can't tell if its the longer lasting anesthetic he put in my back or the cortisone but something is definitely helping.

  • When I used to go for facet and Si joint injections I got about 8 of them each time so I think it's normal to get that many. They still usually only give the max dose of steroids hopefully for the year. Put ice on the injection sites and hope you get some relief. Charry
