Hi! I was recently prescribed Cybalta 30 mg for lower back pain (since surgeon decided against surgery for now). I started it 2 weeks ago, along with the Percocet, Diclofenac and MS Contin for night time that I had already been taking. The Cymbalta seemed to really kick in after 10 days. In fact, my pain was pretty much gone! A few days later, I started the 60 mg Cymbalta as prescribed. That night, I started itchng, and woke the next morning with hived all up and down my torso and upper thighs! I eventually went to ER (last night).

The Dr. said there is no way to tell which drug was cauing the adverse reaction but guessed it was the Cymbalta. I really don't want to stop it since it worked so well! Any thoughts?

  • I know it's possible to get an allergy at any time even to a medication you've had before. I hope you and your Dr. can gradually eliminate each medication and hope another med can help with the nerve pain. Keep us posted. Charry
