I stumbled here doing research on how to help my back. Looks like a bunch of people like myself are here too, very excited to share others experiences and learn.
Am male, 22yrs old, 8yrs martial arts/(was)great physical condition.
Was in a front end auto collision 5/11. L5 disc compressed and bulged out 360*, more to right than left, lost feeling from waist down temporarily.
44 Days flat on my back.
Physical Therapy/ Chiropractor/ Massage EVERY other day.
Train with an injury-specific yoga instructor.
Have regained the strength, but nothing stops the pain.
4 facet epidural injections and 1 in the nerve. Got 2.5 weeks of "better" but never without pain. Oxycodone/Hydrocodone/Naproxen/Valium make 0 difference on the pain, just my state of mind about it.
Looking at medial branch block on Tuesday/repeat facet injections.
Can physically do most things, my range and weight bearing ability is almost fully recovered. But not without constant pain.
Feel like I'm going backwards now.
Every step feels like landing from a 10ft fall.
I'm on day 234 and keeping my chin up and looking to heal.
After lurking around reading for the past 12hrs here I figured I'd like to be a part and see what I can contribute.
