last night while making dinner I burnt 2 fingers and it did NOT hurt. I was amazed and started laughing because I finally won one on the pain. I hope you understand what I am saying being chronic pain people too.
I did not know where to put this. Please move it to where it should be. Donna

It was such a good post, something people should read and re-read.
Besides burning your finger, I can totally understand what you are saying.

  • It's all relative after a while. I hate burns, but there are things that hurt worse!
    3 level spinal fusion, L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1, November 2008. Stiff, but I can walk.
  • LOL - cute story. Hope your fingers are ok.
But yes, pain does put other pain in perspective.

  • Yep yep! I do understand completely!

I had shingles and after about 3 days of my neck feeling a little bit of pain I had someone look at it. Thankfully she was a nurse and knew it was shingles.

She said most people scream their heads off in pain from them.

BUT on a more serious note when I did go see my Dr about the shingles he told me I needed to be more aware of my "little" pains so that I did not over look something serious - like shingles ;)

L1 - S2 "gone" useless in 1 way or another. DDD. RA. Bone Spurs. Tons of nerve damage/issues. Stenosis. Both knees replaced. 50 yrs old. I had a great fall (hence my user name) at age 41 and it has been a domino effect every since.
