I had a 1 level ACDF due to cord compression a year ago. My symptoms included numbness in both feet, bladder issues and terrible muscle spasms in neck, shoulder and upper back on the left side only.
I felt great the first 2 months because I did next to nothing, except going for short walks. At the 3 months mark, I had a bad flare up where I had terrible radiculopathy going down to my left thumb and forefinger. Some of the pain started to come back. Ever since then, I've been battling with this and things get better and worse. I was still happy with having the surgery because of the cord compression symptoms. Now I'm not sure what's going on! My feet have been tingling for almost a week and I have no idea what is going on! I did call my physiatrist's office and will most likely be making an appointment to see her.
Has anyone experienced cord compression symptoms before surgery and then having it return? Is this due to scar tissue or is it likely I herniated another level? I also have a couple of herniated discs in the lumbar, but was told that they were mild. Hope someone can shed some light on my symptoms returning.
