I've been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease, spurs, bulging disks, and spinal stenosis. Ive had my first epidural steroid injection today and Im in worce pain now than I've had in a while. It ranks a 10 in my book I've been sent home with no pain meds and the tramadol that my regular doc prescribed does not work. I tried to call her and get something else but she won't prescribe anything else stronger. I tried calling today and they were out of the office till Monday. I've been told to go to the er but I'll try to give it till the morning. I am not happy with my doc but with my ins it's hard to find one that will take it and all the ones I wish to see I need a referral to see them. WHAT DO I DO ??????

  • I always iced the area 15 minutes every 2 hours after my injections and took an anti-inflammatory.

Whenever I got an injection it was always more painful afterwards but unbearable you would need to get something else for pain. It's unfortunate you will need to go to Urgent care or ER instead of your Dr. giving you something else for pain. I hope the injection works for you soon and takes down the inflammation. Take care. • hi and welcome to the forum! we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. it can be very painful after an injection and for several days after! you may just have to endure the ER if the pain is that bad and you cannot reach a doctor for adequate meds.. please try and relax as the more tension you are under, the more pain. stop by anytime!
