Long term on Lyrica

I've been taking Lyrica (150mg/day) for a rather short time (3 weeks) with overall good results, so good that it seems I will need to stick to it for a longer time.

Does anyone know of Lyrica long term effects? Does its efficacy wane over time and an increase of dosage may provide necessary? Does it stop working?

  • I used lyrica for few years, had to keep going up on it because at lower dose it would not do the job after a while, Once i was on the higher dose is where it started affecting me making me very sleepy, loopy and i was afraid to drive feeling like that,

At 1 st at low dose it did help with my nerve pain,
Flexicore ADR 2004 resulting nerve damage l4l5 Fusion 2006 same level, 2009 hardware removal with lami !
    2012 scs implant ,
  • Neurontin, cymbalta and FINALLY Lyrica.

    started at 75mg 3times daily

am now, after 2 fusions, maxed out at 200mg x 3 a day which i think is the maximum dose and I can tell you that without lyrica (been on it 3 years) the burning and nerve stabbing type pain in my feet, sciatica and such is MUCH worse.

So in my opinion, long term, at whatever dose, is highly reccomended if you have nerve disease (and damage) as I do...
