I've shamelessly just joined and am asking questions straight away!
I have what I would call very bad lower back pain. I lifted something very heavy (not the best lifting technique but not the worst) and 5 hours later I can't walk without sticks.
Movement is now very hard and I've been resting in bed for the last couple of days. It is hard to do anything and going to the toilet is a slow and painful process (getting to the toilet I mean, not the passing).
The pain is sharp to the point that I am very shaky and I am naturally starting to restrict movement to avoid the pain. The pain comes on with normal hip movement and reducing hip movement as much as possible stops the pain - a 1 inch shuffled walk with sticks is passable with little weight held on the legs.
From other peoples' experience, should I sit in bed and wait or seek some advice? I have private health cover and am in the UK.
