I had ACDF surgery on Feb 2nd c4-c5 and c5-c6. My Dr is very liberal when it comes to wearing a collar. Even when I first came home I only had to wear it when riding in the car, going up and downstairs, when in public and if I felt like my neck needed a rest. I have been doing well, not much pain, just a few minor odd feelings, a little numbness in my hand one day, some tinging in my neck/head another day. All I have been chalking up to the healing process.
Tonight I was cooking and a pop of grease splattered on my face while I was stiring something. Without thinking I jerked my head back, away from the splatter. Ever since then I have had a bit of tingling/heaviness off and on in my left arm and a few feelings of pain shooting through my neck, not bad pain, just worrisome and my left ear is tingly. I am wondering if that bit of jerking could have messed up the surgery in my neck? I am hoping its just muscular from the quick unexpected movement.
I have the plate and screws with no bone graft.
Anyone do anything similar after surgery?
