Muscle spasms after L4L5 fusion

kyinrunnerkkyinrunner Posts: 1
I am 5 days post op and have started to have very intense spasms from my butt down my thighs in both legs. I had some of this pain before surgery in the left leg now it is constant in both and seems to be getting worse. The numbnessvinhad before is gone for now. Dr is baffled. I am on a ton of the meds I see on here. Any hope? I am 55 and still need to provide for an 8 year old.

  • I was being treated by a neurologist for headaches during the time I was having lower back surgery from a neurosurgeon. I started having horrible lower back spasms and after chasing them in futility with Valium and Robaxin, my neurologist offered to help. He did a series of Botox injections into my lower back and it was fantastic. He did them every 3 months for a year and it allowed my back to heal from surgery without being wrenched with spasms.
