Had ACDF C6/C7 in late Feb. I was off of work for 2 weeks as I was told I only had 2 weeks of FMLA and had to return to work for fear of loosing my job..I do CNA type of work. I wore no collar and was told my neck was stable enough for bending and twisting etc. I am in the same amount of pain as before. I go for exray on May 4th. I cannot believe there would be a neurosurgeon that would even consider releasing someone to go back to work that early regardless. I also had left Carpel tunnel surgery done at the same time. It has been horrible and I'm in constant pain. I feel like i am going backwards in my recovery! Reading all of these posts from others I hope I had the right DR. Mine seemed to treat this surgery as it was no big deal.

  • I had ACDF C 5/6 and returned to an office job after 2 weeks but I could not bend, lift, or twist. I also had carpel tunnel surgery done at the same time. I did not have a collar either. It sounds like you were doing alot of physical labor. Take care of yourself!
