Hello all. I had a two level ALIF a week ago today. I'm assuming healing hurts because right now I'm in a lot of back pain. My incision feels fine, burns a little but mostly it feels like it's healing great. The problem I'm having is my back kills. It was being controlled well in the hospital and the first two days of being at home but the past two days not so much. It's worse than before surgery right now.
My husband thinks I'm pushing myself too much. I'm already walking a mile a day but the reason I feel like I'm not pushing too much is that except for once it didn't increase my pain it just stayed level.
I'm also having problems sleeping through the night because of the pain. So I don't know if you asked me right now if I thought it was worth it I'd say no but I know I'm still really early in the healing game. I've understood that this was going to be hard the whole time I've been waiting for it to happen, I just don't think you can understand how hard until you've done it.
