Large Cyst on L4 L5

Hi -
I am looking for information from anyone who has had a cyst removed from their spine.

Any Info would be greatly appreciated!

I would just like to know if the surgery was worth it? Did the pain cease, or at least decrease? Did the cyst grow back?

My neurosurgeon could not give me definitive answers to these questions as he has only done one other surgery similar to mine...He did tell me that the surgery is invasive 4-6 hours and recovery would be at least 6 mos.
I have little deterioration on disk and arthritis in left hip.

Pain is excrutiating when standing or walking for long periods of time. It is tolerable when I take it easy.

Thank you for your time.
