Just wanted to introduce myself. I just found this website and forum and wanted to say "hi" and I look forward to learning everything I can about my disease, and am determined to get my life back, after living with chrinic pain and delression for over 5 years now.

  • Welcome to the site. I think you'll find a lot of useful information on the site and support from the members here. Looks like your issues are at the L levels. What have you been doing to help - exercise, meds, PT, shots?

There is a true pain/depression cycle and it can be tough to keep in front of it.

    Take care.

  • Physical therapy 3x a week; and with my 45.00 co-pay, it ran into alot of money, especially during a time when I was on STD thru my employer. All PT did was massage me, and put a TENS unit on my back with heat, which felt great. And after the TENS unit with heat, I did my stretches, and then it was back to the TENS unit with ice. The TENS unit gave me relief when it was ON....but by the time I left therapy; and got to my truck the relief was gone. After a month of PT I just bought my own TENS unit, and did my stretches at home. Saved a boat load of money. But now the TENS unit does nothing for me. I had my first Pain Mgmnt appt in April, and the Dr put me on Gabapentin, Tramadol, and Naproxen.
  • Hi, you have found the place here to research all you can on "things' that can help you--- therapies, ice/heat times, acupuncture, prolo, many other options to try to help.
Wanted to drop in and say welcome- and start surfing.:) I have a notebook i keep by computer to keep info I find on here, then try it to see if it helps.. but always give it some time..to adjust and react to the new avenue you decide is right for you.
