Findings: The vertebrae are normal in height and are normally aligned. The C1 ring & odontoid are normal. The bone marrow signal is normal.
C2-3: There is no disc protrusion or stenosis. Facet joints are normal.
C3-4: Disc protrusion with posterior & left forminal zone focality results in moderate left neutral foraminal stenosis. Right neural foramen & spinal canal are normally patent. Mild facet arthropathy is present.
C4-5: A broad disc protrusion measure 3 mm causing mild central stenosis with thecal sac measuring 8 mm. There is moderate to severe bilateral neutal foraminal stenosis. Mild facet arthropathy is present.
C5-6: Disc protrusion of less than 2 mm. Spinal canal is normally patent. There is mild to moderate foraminal stenosis on the left & mild right foraminal stenosis. Mild facet arthropathy is present.
C6-7: A borad disc protrusion measures 3 mm causing moderate central stenosis with near effacement of CSF surrounding the spinal cord. There is moderate to severe bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. Mild facet arthropathy is present.
C7-T1: No disc protrusion or stenosis. There is mild facet arthropathy.
The cervical soft tissues are normal.
1. Moderate central stenosis @ C6-7. Mild central stenosis of C4-5
2. Several levels of neural foraminal stenosis of advanced degree at mid cervical levels as detailed above.
3. Multilevel degenerative disc disease of mild to moderate degree with associated protrusions, largest protrusion @ C4-5 & C6-7.
Is there ANY way I can avoid surgery?
At this moment I am in no pain, and didn't realize anything was wrong until my right side became very weak lifting weights in the gym. Also right tricep & right pec muscles are shrinking.
I have stopped lifting weights. My appt with Neurological Studies (EEG,Nerve Conductions, EMGS) doctor is 2 wks away....ANY advice would be very appreciated. Thank you.
