Folks, sometime around June 13th, Spine-Health will have a new software upgrade. I've been working with the developers and testers on this for most of this month.
In one of my earlier posts, I stated that with any system upgrade there can confusion, not sure how to do and without a doubt some sort of problems.
Nothing different this time around. There has been a lot of work put into this upgrade. Much of this, you and I as Forum members dont readily see. Drupal (which is the software ) is a CMS (Context Management System) that controls a lot more than just forums and posts.
Spine-Health is a growing company and has made major milestones in the online medical arena.
Ok, now back to you and me. When the new system is live, there will be questions, no doubt. I would like to use this specific thread for ALL members to report questions/concerns/problems. This will make it a lot easier for everyone. If members start to start new threads to report problems, things might get missed. As long as everyone uses this thread, things will get addressed.
There are a few guidelines that I would like to establish upfront:
1. Because you dont like the new system, we are not going back to the old one.
2. Forget the emotions about it was easier to do it the old way, I just learned how to, etc. We are all here to help everyone.
3. Appearances have changed. Things will not look the same, fonts may be different , symbols will be different, navigation may change. Again, we will all get through this.
I did make sure that under My Stuff "View Recent Posts" will still be available. It provides the same function, just that the appearance might not be the same.
4. Try to avoid negative or non-productive comments. Sure, some of us may not like the new look or the way something is done, but blasting someone, tearing down the overall objectives of the upgrade, etc is not going to do anyone any good.
So many of you have been with us for a long time. You remember the initial upgrade from PunBB to Drupal, you remember font/color changes, etc. We never abandoned anyone. From my entire team of volunteers, to the full time employees of Spine-Health, we will be there to help you.
I would love nothing better that the day we go live, that everyone is 100% happy, no problems arise and that we all can just use this system as we have: To Post and Discuss the various Spinal Issues we all deal with.
