A new twist

I've been doing pretty good recently.... Sure everything is relative, but I am happy and content.
I did just start having a problem, minor... but annoying.
I will get a jolt up my right side into my neck and upward. Its a pretty good jolt, because it does stop
me from doing what I was doing.

Another part , is that from time to time, when I go to pick up something, my hand, be it the left or right, it will
go numb for a second or two.

When I discuss this with my physiatrist, she, keeps coming back to the conclusion that I have TOS (Thoriac Outlet Syndrome).

Pain, but something with exercises and therapy I should be able to beat.

Its funny, even when things are going smooth, there is always something for us chronic pain patients that reminds us that we have pain and will always have some form of pain.

Funnier, is that even pain thinks its going to win over me, aint happening! I've already am two steps ahead of it and I am dealing with it head on!

  • Ron I like ur thinking! We can all learn a little something about chronic pain and how a positive attitude makes a difference!!
  • Keep doing the therapy for the TOS. The surgery is brutal!

I hope you're well otherwise. It's been a long time since I was on here!

  • Is it in your neck and goes up into the side of your head? I have had that since I had c-spine issues as well as the numb hand on my left side. Last time I went for inferential treatments and ultrasound at the back of my neck and it really helped after about 2 weeks of treatment going 3x a week. I also do the neck exercises as taught by my MD and PT. I hope it eases up for you. I know you have c-spine issues as well. Just made me think of the neck since it goes from the neck up like a sharp jolt. hugs. Charry

It starts at the base of my neck and then shoots up the side of my head.
Sort of reminds me what an electrical shock feels like or a EMG deep probe.
We still have not been able to completely identify what is causing this. TOS could contribute, but it really doesnt fit in that well.

Its annoying, but at this point, it hasnt created any big problem for me, so it just goes on the list of things to keep an eye on....
