Nerve Block

My paim Dr. wants to inject me with a nerve block to find out where my pain is originating. Has any one experienced this ?????

  • Nerve blocks are a typical tool used to figure what is the pain generator. They are not used for long term pain management, but rather as a diagnostic tool. If the area they inject doesn't give you any relief, then that is not likely the pain generator. So they may need to repeat the procedure on different levels at different times, to rule one area out or rule it in. I have had them several times and they are not to difficult to get through. Good luck.
  • 4 weeks after nerve block , pain is worse. What next to try ?
