at my wits end

After years of neck pain arm symptoms and what I thought was migraines (now dx as cervicogenic headaches) which was due to bulging disca at c5-c6, c6-c7 with mild root impingement, my latest ct scan shows the al sac compression of the for mentioned levels caused by osteophyte/disc complex, with c6-c7, c7-t1 foraminal narowings are seen, with c8 root compression. Im 26 and have had this problem for 7 years only relieved by pregnancy, treatments have included Physical therapy, traction, TENS, manipulation, medications; anti inflammatories, steroids, norspan 20mg, arcoxia, anti depressants, valium, tramadol (im sure there is more however I can't remember them all) for 7 months I have had constant numbness of my little finger and ring finger. What are my current treatment options as I have a 2yr old autistic son, im finding it very difficult to care for him and my other boys 4 and 1

  • HI....I am so sorry for the pain you are in. The begining of what you wrote is a copy to my life. I have forminal stenosis of varying levels from c4-c7 (mild to severe), DDD through the cervical spine (mild to severe), osteoarthritis in c1-c2 (moderate). There are a few others but that is what i remember off the top of my head. But it all started with migraines and tension. I'm on Zoloft 100mg, gapatentin (300mg), Tizinadine 4mg, and Tramadol 50mg. I use heat and cold packs every night. I massage the area myself or have hubby do it. I try to get a professional massage done once a month. I am looking into getting acupuncture done soon.
You asked about other options and it may be surgery. But like anything, try everything else before taking the surgery route. When was the last time you were at the DR's? Have they discussed surgery? Have they discussed damage being done because of waiting longer for surgery?
I feel so bad for you, knowing the pain you are in, and being a stay at home Mom myself. my children are older 8 and 5. They are pretty self sufficient. They can make their own food to eat and get their own drinks. my older son can help his sister reach something. They fight like crazy but they are kids.....and some days they are bored because mommy is having a "bad day". Is there someone who can help you with your boys? is there a 13 or 14 yo girl (or boy) near you or in your family that would be willing to help with the boys for a nominal fee? is there another Mom you are close to that can take one or two of your boys off your hands for a few hours?
Best of Luck to you!!!! Hope you find some relief
