in may i had 2 levels 3/4 and 6/7 done on my cervical spine... surgery went very well.. healing went very well... my hands are no longer numb
i saw my surgeon at 1 week and again at 5 and the next visit will be at the 10 weeks he gave me a script for PT 3 x's a wk for 4 wks but do to the fact that he does not want my neck moving during PT and also cannot move or twist my back do to spinal fusions of 3 yrs ago what would they do? yes the treadmill and upper arms for strength i would assume but at this time i cannot afford the 20% leftover $$ that i will have to pay...
i feel if i just walk more and do arm excersices it is like the same thing right? or am i wrong...really torn between taking on the PT and just hoping for the best of what i can do the PT place i went to b/f are great but i am really looking for anyones feedback on this if they chose to not go or if they think i should go...no i have not told the drs this...please advise...

    You should explain it to your surgeon, and see if you can go once and to get a appropriate home therapy program. The therapist should understand, but even the surgeon writes the orders correctly, they won't even know. Some surgeons don't order therapy post cervical fusions. I know I have been in therapy so many times, and unless they are stretching me or doing massage therapy, I can do it from home. Now one thing maybe that ultrasound therapy was ordered and of course you can't do that at home. But first I would start by explaining to your surgeon your issue and go from there.
