Pregnancy After Surgery?

I had 2 discs replaced between L3-L4 and L4-L5 about 2 years ago and have been doing really well since the operations with only moderate pain every once in a while. I'm getting married next year and we want to start a family within the next couple year so I was really wondering if anyone has been pregnant since they had an artificial disc replacement. Is there anything I won't be able to do? Is vaginal delivery even an option? Any information would be great! Oh and I'm 24 years old, thin, and exercise regularly so I'm in pretty good shape & young, if that matters.

  • Hi hon,

I too am getting married soon. I was supposed to be married next month but just got out of surgery a week ago and have had to put it off.I just had a baby a few months back before my acdf fusion surgery. I recently asked this same question to my neurosurgeon in case we wanted to try for another. He said that pregnancy and delivery wouldnt be an issue.
