So yesterday was 1 month post op. I find I have more stiffness and achiness in my neck than actual pain now. It seems every position I put my head in is uncomfortable. Hope that subsides soon.
Saturday morning I decided to see if I could switch from dilaudid to a non narcotic like robaxacet. So today is day 3 for me and I'm not gonna lie. Withdrawal is pretty rough for me. Chills, sweats, nausea, cramps and insomnia for the past 3 days. Oh my...Lol! Hope this ends soon too because I really need some sleep.
On another note I notice a lot, if not most people are told not to take any nsaids after acdf. Kinda worried because I took ibuprofen after acdf for the first 2 weeks. Nothing was mentioned not to in my aftercare instructions. I will have to talk to the neuro about that. Hope this doesn't impact on fusion because though my mom has been so wonderful to come stay with me for the last 8 months I'm sure she is hoping to be released soon. Lol!
Anyway I just wanted to update you all at my 1 month mark. I am learning about patience...you have to with recovery..baby steps...take it day by day. I hope all that have gone through surgery are healing well and able to have a pain free day. This is a really great community and I am so appreciative of you all.
I go see my neurosurgeon thursday and will update after.
Big hugs to you all.
