Ever feel like you have been co-paid to death?
Three years ago my back pain got so bad I entered into Pain Management because surgeons at the time did not want to do surgery.
So co-pay is $50 a visit for me.
See doctor every three months for follow up.
$50 x 4 time a year = $200
Get a shot in the spine = $50 a visit. Get two or three a year = $150
Prescriptions = $40 a month x 12 = 480
Urine Analysis = $50 a visit x 4 times a year = $200
Pain Management Out of Pocket Cost = $1,030 a year for me x 3 = $3,090.00 over three years
MRI (oopc) $350
Bone Scan (oopc) $500
Discogram (oopc) $1,200.00
Now I am up to $5,140.00
Have not added the cost of what insurance does not cover.
Example: UA is not covered. So I pay a $50 dollar co-pay and get a $1,000.00 bill in the mail
Shots: Your deductible better be paid. Otherwise I get a bill for an additional $150.00 per shot in the back until my deductible.
Well that is all the whining I have for now. Cost a lot of money to try and stay pain free.
