back stiffness

so the other day at work i lifted a heavy box, and the box completely fell apart, and i shifted, it was hurting real bad to bend at all after that. now it hurts some, but my lower back is so tight and stiff right now. i have used the heating pad and ice off and on. i almost forget what this felt like, its been a while. i usually just have the sciatic nerve pain from my herniated disc. now i realize i was doing farely well. any suggestions for the tight stiff back would be appreciated. also i usually do stretches just about everyday

  • You may want to alternate ice with the heat as it may take down the swelling as heat may increase circulation ice helps take down the pain and swelling. You should see your Dr. for an assessment and he may order an anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxants or possibly diagnostic tests and Physiotherapy. I hope you filled out a Workman's Comp just in case. I hope it gets better soon. Charry
