So back story for those that do not know I had ACDF surgery on 27 August with multi level fusion due to disc herniation that was causing severe spinal compression. The doctor also wanted to do a laminectomy due to my having cervical stenosis but changed his mind after he opened me up. Anyway, I am in the "in between" time I suppose. I have had one follow up appointment and am awaiting getting a post surgery MRI as requested by the surgeon and am awaiting finding out about physical therapy (so far all I have been doing is walking outside and using the elliptical daily). I go back to work tomorrow (FINALLY, I have been going crazy, I am not used to having this kind of time off being in the Navy haha). Pre surgery I had numbness pain and tingling in my left hand and forearm, leg numbness, numb areas on my sides, and severe neck and shoulder pain. The neck and shoulder pain is completely gone. Leg numbness mostly was gone. But I woke up with a numb foot (which is still numb, and now the numbness and pain feeling has returned in my left hand and forearm and has now started in my right hand and forearm (both in the same areas and affecting the same fingers). THe doctor told me things could get worse for a time due to not knowing what kind of damage my spinal cord may have endured during the time that I toughed it out with this herniation. Anyway, has anyone else experienced "new" problems post surgery? I am kind of worried about it. Thanks.
