3 months post op is very early days. Expect 2 years gradual improvement. After that you are probably just adapting to what you can't do. I am 9 years post op (thoracotomy t5/6) and feel fine and unaware of my limitations most of the time, until I am with other people. Then I am reminded of how slow I walk and how awkward I am getting in or out of cars or trying to climb over obstacles etc. But compared with being paralysed it feels pretty good!

  • Thanks, my doc wont get specific- everytime I go he just says its too soon- then when I ask when he says we'll see next time. lol At least your giving me an idea of what to expect. When or were you able to go back to work??- my doc dances all over this one. lol He has my restrictions too tight right now for me to work. Not to mention, I fall quite freq--- I know everyone is different- In my heart I know it will be awhile- but a girls gotta eat. lol
