I am a 24 yrd old females and had a Microdiscectomy of my L5-S1 on march 5th 2012. For the most part I am feeling great I am going to the gym 4-6 days a week and losing a lot of weight so there is not so much pressure on my back. I ran my 1st ever 5k about 2 weeks ago. I still don't feel like I have my full range of motions back but working a little everyday on that. I had all of the sciatica pain radiating through my gluteal, back of my left leg symptoms that I felt before the surgery. I have to stretch at least once a day bc my hips and calves still tighten up really easily. I still have my days where my back gets sore and I have to take it easy. But the only problem that I am concerned about is when sometime I lift my body up to reposition my self while sitting or sneezing I get this shooting pinching pain down my back and it make my nervous. Just wondering if any one else has had the same problem during the post op recovery. For the most part I am supper happy with my decision to go through with the surgery and determined to never look back and feel that pain again... Oct 26th with the be the anniversary of when I 1st hurt my back.
