Pain clinic -vs- chiropractor

I am confused about what to do, I have been to the pain clinic and have received 2 Caudal injection which I believe is helping BUT I also started seeing a chiropractor (last week) and he told he if I get another injection I cant continue to see him. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that makes my left arm numb and hurt like crazy. I need my arm and I need my back, WHY do chiropractors and MD's have to fight between themselves, what to do?

For the most part, those two are different worlds apart when it comes to treating back problems. Notice, I use back, and not spinal. I have a lot of respect of chiropractors and how they can manipulate, twist, turn, jar, etc someone's body to make them feel better. I also have more respect for those chiropractors who recognize their limits. They are not the medical professional to see once a spinal problem (disc, sciatica, etc) has been identified. In the wrong pair hands, serious damage could be done.

Personally, I would trust the total review of a spinal doctor, who in fact can isolate pinched nerves to some disc related problem.

Its a shame, that we can't have our total body treated and not run into the situation you are in.

I think if anything, it sounds like your chiropractor understands he boundaries, but I could be reading into it.

  • A Caudal Injection is just an epideral right? You would think your chiro would be able to work around any thing the doctor is doing for you. Doctors and Chiro will never see eye to eye it seems. But they claim they are there to help you??
What is the chiro afraid of? Maybe you should try another one.... Take Care
