Squeaking/popping after spinal fusion

I'm almost 4.5 months post surgery and I have started experiencing a LOT of noises in my back. At first I thought I was the only one who could hear them, but turns out.... I'm not. It can even be embaressing. It usually doesn't cause immediately pain or anything, but I haven oticed a lot more soreness since it started. Anyone else experiencing this?
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.

  • Hi. I don't have any answer to your question but I do know there has been a number of similar posts about this over the years. If you use the site search button up the top of the page and use the term "popping" you should get some of them. Hopefully some people may have come back once they have seen their specialist and have an informed answer. Best of luck
  • I have had two level fusion L3-L5. I did experience quite a bit of popping after my fusion. I consulted my NS and they told me that it was ligaments moving around the screws and rods. They also told me if it was painful to call them. If its making you sore, I would probably call my doctor. Hope this helps.
