S1 specific nerve block

I just had this done and immediately had some relief of the burng in my right leg but not the heel. As the minutes accumulate between the shot and now the burning in my leg is coming back. I realize the next 7-10 days will tell the tale of success or not but this time the shot was really a piece of cake as opposed to prior ESI in that region and the L5 specific I had a year ago prior to surgery ALIF L5/S1.
I'm hoping for relief but if it comes it just helps discern the area and then leaves me to decide what procedure is next. RFA or SCS.
Opinions and results are varied and even half and half it seems.
Short of a bullet to the head, I don't see any certainty either way.
I'm losing hope little by lots. I would welcome any and all thoughts and opinions BaSED on personal experience.

  • Hi i hope your doing better! I'm recovering from facet blocks myself.... L4/5 L5/S1 and SI.... felt terrible for the first 2 days as expected then felt fabulous!!! for 2 glorious days :-))) and now... its back... and i'm so worried that it won't get better again.... normally the injections work like a dream for me, I've had excellent results for all my injections in the last 5 years.... but this and the previous series weren't great.... hope you feel some relief!!
