At Wits End

My Neuro doc has increased my Neurontin from 100mg/3 X day to 300mg/3 X day. This stuff is not helping, in two weeks he wants me to go up to 600mg/3 X day. UGH! IDK what to do. The pain I feel in my neck/shoulders/shoulder blades/arms is totally effecting my life. I work on a PC all day and there is just NO WAY to get comfortable. I have found myself laying down in the office trying to relieve some of the pains I am feeling. Can't continue to do this, thankfully I have a very understanding boss. It's so hard to believe that they think this is not the same as prior to my surgery in 2005. So the MRI shows all the hardware is intact (C5/6&7).....what else could it be then. Something is just NOT RIGHT with this. UGH! Thanks for letting me vent. As I sit here writing I feel the tears start to build.

Have a good day all

  • What you need to do is to give your poor, over stressed muscles some TLC.
You have simply overdone it. You cannot work on a PC all day and not expect severe problems.

When you have reached such a critical stage, drugs won't help. Drugs don't cure, they mask, and then there are the side effects.

First thing I'd suggest is to get a series-you will need lots-of remedial/ sports massages on neck, shoulders and back. That should provide some immediate benefit.
Having got so bad, you won't be fixed in a day. Think months.

All you can do at work is get up and move around every 30 minutes. if you can't do that, you will ,soon be unable to work.

    It is that serious.

You could also visit a physiotherapist to discuss the problem and learn some counter measures.

You are not alone. Intense PC work is the elephant in the room, and we could soon have a workforce unable to work at a young age.

I had this for far too may years, still haven't recovered in retirement.

Massage was my first breakthrough, then stopping work using a PC, then a magnesium supplement.

It is simply over use and the only real treatment is to stop. Failing that, massage and physio.
