Are you able to exercise at all?
Which forms of exercise do you find helpful?
I've been shown/ told to do so many different exercises which either didn't help AT ALL or just made the (nerve) pain SO much worse...
When my back pain first started, I would go to the physio in pain, but able to walk, and after doing his exercises would I would be in such a bad state, that I could barely walk at all...
At the moment I'm trying isometric exercises to help build up the stablising muscles in my back/ torso...
They seem to be working quite well and are not increasing the pain levels, which is good.
Unfortunately the first 10 years of having back pain (many herniated discs, sciatica etc) I did not find good treatment... so many shoddy Drs and physios out there who claim they can help you, but just give you some routine treatment that is not tailor-made to your condition at all...
So 10 years of wasted time and pain have led to my muscles getting badly reduced from the lack of exercise due to pain.
So now I need to start from scratch and try to build up all that missing muscle again.
Thankfully I have found better Drs and phyios in the meantime, but still, I find that I have to test every single one of their suggestions, to see if they work for me, or just make it worse again.
So I'm wondering what exercises people do, that they find *truly* helpful...?
P.S. I'm really struggling with the exercise. I don't think I've ever been a fan - more likely to read a book, than to go for a run. I struggle with sport-migraines and low blood pressure... I'm starting to find exercise that works for me, but still, it's a struggle to motivate myself!!
Happiness is your chronic pain being less than it usually is...
Migraines and so many herniated discs (the same ones over and over) that I have literally stopped counting
