Opana and Dilaudid

I have been on pain meds for about 12 years now. Degenerative disc disease, moderate disc bulging S1 L4-5 (I think) and severe curvature of the spine since I was 1 year old.
My pain doc said people like me are usually on disability and bed rest with strong meds. I prefer to work and I do full time. I have been on Oxy for several yers and recently switched to Opana.and Dilaudid for BT pain.Opana 40mg 3 times a day and Dilaudid 8mg 4 times a day.
The Oxy started to turn on me, I was getting depressed and it stopped helping the pain. I switched and the withdrawals were something even though I was told I was on an equivelant dose.
In any case, sometimes I feel the Opana does nothing, and I do not get relief. Anyone else have this experience with Opana?
Just wonderin........

  • Funny thing about medications they all work differently on all of us. One might work for one and one not for someone else. However if your into much pain still you need to speak to your doctor. On the net there is conversion charts that you can see what is the equivalent dosing, So you might want to check it out.
