Muscular Pain

I am pregnant of six months .I am suffering from terrible muscle pain while changing my side position when sleeping.I discuss with my doctor. She gave me gel to apply over pain part but I didn't got relief.Hope to get me good suggestion.

  • Hi, congratulations on your upcoming birth. Whenever I have had muscle spasms or pain, I find that heat works best for me. I would definitely check with my gynecologist first. Ask if it would be okay to use a heating pad, or moist heat. You need the muscles to relax, and heat seems to work the best. Hope this helps.
  • Heat works better for me too. Where exactly do you have your muscular pain? BTW, congratulation! Definately check with dr.

    Best Wishes:)

  • Hi guys..

first I would like to thank for your suggestions and ofcourse I do apply... but after consulting my gynecologist. Just one wanna ask one that do I need to improve posture while sleeping.
  • Again, your physician would be the best one to ask. What has been prescribed to me is a pillow between my legs for side sleeping and a pillow under my knees for back sleeping. This seems to keep the back in proper alignment and relieves pressure on your back muscles. But, please take to your doctor about this as well.

You mentioned you have fibromyalgia. There are a number of things FM suffers have in common. Make sure you are getting enough calcium and especially magnesium. Magnesium helps to let the muscles relax: a hot bath with Epsom Salts should help a bunch. You also may be dehydrated. Make sure you're drinking plenty of pure water. Avoid caffeine and soda. FM sufferers are invariably hypoglycemic. Watch your intake of sugar, bread and potatoes. Gentle massage with a tennis ball on the affected muscles should also help as would yoga. Don't forget to stretch. Good Luck....
