Alif surgery1 week post op

I had alif surgery one week ago yesterday. I'm just wondering if I'm where I'm supposed to be with healing. I can get up and walk and do stairs and I even watched some dishes and folded some clothes. I can shower alone and most of my swelling has gone down. My incision site and my back are still sore. I was waking every 4 hrs for pain meds but last night I slept straight theough from 10pm-8am. What should I be doing at this point? I don't want to sit in bed all day but what else can I do since I can't bend or twist. I walk around and go up and downstairs but what else? Also should I still b sore? I can't just jump outta bed and I still go slo getting in bed..

  • Sounds to me like your doing great considering you just had a major surgery only one week ago. This is the part that gets to all of us, patience. Just do what your doctor told you. Unfortunately you can't speed up the healing process but you can set it back by doing too much.

    Best wishes
  • Thanx so much I see my dr on Thursday. Seems like I've been getting Charlie horses or sciatica or something in both my legs. It's tough to stand without it hurting. Hopefully I get a better idea of whatsoever expected on Thursday:-)
