Hello everyone! I have been a member here since about my 2nd surgery. You are all such a great help! I am going back for surgery number 3 on January the 31st. Quick recap:
ALIF L3,4,5 in August of 2011, still a lot of pain so they went back in in Feb of 2012 and added "buttress plates". Found a new doctor due to being in MORE pain after the 2nd surgery. Now I am going in on Jan 31, 2013 for "revision decompresive lumbar laminectomy L3-SI, removal of hardware, exploration of fusion, allograft, instrumentation and possible bone morphogenic protein (BMP)".
Not a lot of fun but I am hopeful that this last one does the trick. My surgon is a great doctor and very well respected. Even tho he is making me quit smoking!
and is going to test my nicotine level! Smoking = no surgery. It's so hard! Should have listened to my parents about smoking.....
ALIF L3-5 Aug '11, butress plates added pos. Feb '12, 2013 revision decompresive laminectomy L3-SI, removal of hardware, exploration, allograft, instrumentation and possible bone morphogenic protein (BMP) 3rd times the charm!
