Laparoscopic fusion

Father in law (85) w degenerative disc and spondlysis who had a XLIF with fusion L4-6 with screws and rods and cage and L2-3 decompression laparoscopically.

1. Came out marvellously, 6 hour surgery, more damage than expected, little bleeding and stable throughout.
2. Up with walker the next day, pain at surgical sites but no pain in legs.
3. Discharged from hospital in 3 days to skilled nursing.
4. Discharged from skilled nursing in 10 days for continued PT at home.

Pretty amazing...As a nurse this with be my way to go.
