Flexeril and BPH

I had C4 thru C7 ACDF with hardware two weeks ago and was prescribed Flexeril (cyclobenzapr) 10 mg for muscle spasms.

I have very little pain but some muscle areas that get tight and sore in my neck and upper back.

The Flexeril works well but raises havoc with my enlarged prostate (BPH).

Has anyone taken another muscle relaxer that does not have the same effect on the prostate?

My next appointment with the doc is in two weeks. If my muscle problem starts to get worse I will call his office and see what else can be done. I am not much of a squeaky wheel, you could say.

I am posting this, even though I could easily call the doctors office today, because I am interested in what is happening to others taking Flexeril and to perhaps highlight the prostate side affect to Flexeril.

  • aka Valium. Actually lessens BPH symptoms for me. However it is not a med you want to take 3 to 4 of everyday, or use with opioids if you have any respiratory problems. I stopped flexeril because I could not adjust to the mental fog, that was enough that I would not have been aware of increased BPH symptoms.

  • Thanks. No fog for me with this and it worked but the prostate..... wow!
